Riley Data Deletion Instructions

You may request the deletion of personal data associated with your use of Riley, including data Riley received through its Instagram and Meta integrations.

How to request deletion

Send an email to contact@rileywrites.ai with the subject line:

Data deletion request

Please include:

  • The email address associated with your Riley account
  • Your Riley workspace or account name
  • The Instagram username connected to Riley, if applicable
  • Whether you want us to delete only data associated with your Instagram integration or your entire Riley account and its associated data

For your security, please send the request from the email address associated with your Riley account whenever possible. We may request additional information if reasonably necessary to verify your identity. Riley will never ask you to send us your Instagram or Meta password or access token.

What happens after we receive your request

Once we have verified your request, Riley will:

  1. Disconnect the applicable Instagram or Meta account from Riley.
  2. Revoke or invalidate Riley's access to that account, where applicable.
  3. Delete the personal data Riley received from Meta or Instagram and the associated connection records from our active systems.
  4. If you requested deletion of your entire Riley account, delete the Riley account and other associated personal data covered by the request.
  5. Send you an email confirming that the deletion process has been completed.

We aim to complete verified deletion requests within five business days. In all cases, we will process requests within the period required by applicable law.

Information covered by deletion

Depending on how you used Riley, the deleted information may include:

  • Instagram or Meta account identifiers
  • Instagram usernames and profile information stored by Riley
  • Access tokens and authorization records
  • Connected Instagram account and Facebook Page information
  • Media, captions, drafts, publishing records, and related metadata stored in Riley
  • Logs or records directly associated with the Instagram integration
  • Other personal data associated with your Riley account, if full account deletion was requested

Content already published to Instagram

Deleting data from Riley does not automatically delete posts, Reels, Stories, comments, messages, or other content that has already been published to Instagram.

To remove content that is already on Instagram, you must delete it through Instagram or use Instagram's account and privacy controls.

Deleting data from Riley also does not delete your Instagram, Facebook, or Meta account.

Backups and information we must retain

Deleted information may remain temporarily in encrypted backups until those backups are overwritten through our normal backup-retention process, which takes no longer than 90 days. Backup data is not used for ordinary business purposes and will not be restored except when required for disaster recovery or security purposes.

We may retain limited information when required by law or reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcement of our agreements. Any retained information will remain protected and will be deleted when it is no longer required.
